The graphs below show the number of men and women in full and part-time employment in Australia between 1973 and 1993.
Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.
The four line graphs illustrate the percentage of both male and female populations from all age groups of Australia present in permanent and part-time job in a twenty year span from 1973 to 1993. Here the doted line represents data from 1973 and the continued line means data from 1993.
The first and third graphs describes the percentage of male workers in a stable income and in a side job. We can see that in 1973, 50-80% of teen boys were in a fixed income whereas only 30-50% of them was earning in 1993. More than 80% adults were in a full-time job which dropped slightly to 70% over the twenty years gap. 20-80% of the older men (over 60 years olds) were still present in fixed position in the past. However, 55 or older men had a declined value in job market and were only comprised of 70% of the office in 1993.
According to the third graph, less than 10% of male earner prioritised part-time chores as their livlihood in 1973. On the other hand, upto 25% of the teens and yound adults were interested in having a side job but keened on a permanent post as they grew older.
The second and fourth graph depict the scenerio for women in working environment. Less than 60% of women were allowed a fixed position in office in both times. Only 50% of the young girls had a full-time job which changed to 20-55% in later years. But women became less focused on career as they matured. Similar words can be used to describe their presence in contractual working situation in 1973; merely a 20%. Contradictly, more than 30% females had a side earning in 1993. 20-30% teens and 20-35% adults had a chance for earning money.
