The pie chart compares the proportion of money spent on six types of categories in a nation between 1950 and 2010.
Overall, it is clear that the largest expenditure was on housing in 1950 while it was on food in 2010. Additionally, healthcare made up the smallest rate in the amount of household expenditure.
In 1950, the percentage of expenditure on housing was highest, at around 72% while the figure for food was significantly lower, at 11.2%. At the same time, 6.6% of total money spent on education compared to only 4.4%, 3.3% and 2.4% expenditure on other transportation and healthcare respectively.
The amount of money spent on food increased to 34% and became the highest point in 2010. At the same time, there was a growth to 19.2% in the expenditure on others. Meanwhile, there were slight rises in the proportion of spending on other transportation, education and healthcare to 14%, 6.3% and 4.5% respectively. By contrast, the expenditure on housing saw a considerable fall by a half of total money.
