Five types of the most popular pastime activities among American women and men of the 21-40 age group are presented in the two pie charts. On the whole, male and female in the US spend almost the same number of hours per week for leisure (around 33 hours), while the types of activities preferred vary.
Looking first at leisure time activities chosen my men, they spend almost half of their free time, in particular, 16,2 hours, watching TV or surfing the Internet. The least favorite pastime among American men is sports and walking, which constitutes only 1,1 hours per week.
Moving on to females, more than one-third of their free time (10, 6 hours per week) is spent at home. Women rarely chose to devote their time for walking or sports, spending only 1, 9 hours for that weekly.
Women spend almost twice less time on TV or online than men whereas males stay at home 2 hours less than females each week. Both genders do not like to spend their leisure time on physical activities, spending up to 2 hours on that.
