The table below gives information about the underground railway systems in six cities.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

The table compares the statistics of six underground railway systems in different metropolises, namely London, Paris, Tokyo , Washington, Kyoto and Los Angeles.
It can be seen clearly that in terms of age and size, the system of London came first, while that of the figure for passengers was occupied by Tokyo. In addition to this, three oldest underground systems outweigh these modern ones in all aspects.
From a quick glance at the length of the route, London was the longest railway system with nearly 400 kilometres which approximately doubled that of Paris constructed in 1900. Besides, the data of Tokyo and Washington DC was far less significant in comparison with the previous one, respectively occupied the third and fourth place with exactly 155 and 126 kilometres. The most undesirable figure for length was recorded in the establishment of the underground system in Kyoto and Los Angeles with under 30 kilometres.
Moving on to analyse the number of passengers annually, the passenger figure for Tokyo was by far the highest with more than 1900 million per year. The statistics of Paris and London were far less noteworthy with nearly 1200 and 755 accurately. Finally, Kyoto and Los Angeles witnessed a similar trend compared to that of length within 50 million.
