The two maps provide information on how Frenton developed between 1990 and 2012.
To begin with 1990, there were mainly four constructions located to on the right side of the High Street. While a green area (was) used as a cafe and park and a theatre were just behind of the High Street, a residential area to the south of the park and shops which was were opposite the houses to the south was built on the south-east side of the Frenton. When it comes to the other side of the street, it is clearly seen that the four major establishments which were a school, a bank, a library and a hospital had been developed in the west of the High Street. Also, the unoccupied places had been filled with trees on both the south and north side of the town.
On the other hand, there had been a considerable amount of tree loss in Franton over the years. On the north side of the map the blocks of flats were constructed and on the south-west of the map , technopark was built instead of trees. The bank to the south of the school was also changed to a restaurant, and the hospital was expanded to the south. Furthermore, whereas, on the High Street's right side, the place used for recreational activities was converted to a hotel and a golf course, houses and the theatre were replaced with blocks of flats and the cinema, respectively. Lastly, On the north side of the town new flats was were built and a supermarket replaced shops.
Overall, There have been significant changes in housing and facilities over the period given. All houses were converted into flats. It seems that there has emerged a need for shelter for the population of Frenton within 22 years. ÖZGE
