My father bought that book to me as a birthday gift and I was really got surprised. It was excited to have a book which I was searching for a long time.
I strongly advise you to read this book, because I know your are also keen of historical matters and battles in history. I really enjoyed this book. It was amazing describing power and perfect imagination of the author, Victor Hugo, that links the issues with the reality. There are plenty of scenes in connection with love, passion, political analyses, drama and the facts based on the true stories.
As I remember, you are going to write some novels in future. So that, this book will help you to improve your imagination and writing skills. And I recommend you to pay attention of the chronological sequence, correlations and the fair language of the book. You will find out many important details from the novel.
