Your local council is considering closing a sport and leisure centre that it runs, in order to save money,
Write a letter to the local council, in your letter,
Give details of how you and your friends or family use the centre.
Explain why the centre is important for the local community.
Describe the possible effects on local people if the centre closed.
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to request you to reconsider decision of discontinuing the sports and leisure centre to save money.
Let me first draw your attention to how we use the centre. Like most families in the neighborhood, the ladies of my home are part of yoga classes. The youngsters of the family often play badminton and swimming. Although I am not part of any sport activities, I have participated in numerous social events that were organized in the centre.
Moving on to the importance of the centre, It would be an understatement to state that centre is a major factor in keeping the locals together. The place acts as an escape from our mundane lives. Also, it gives an opportunity to people in the society to have life outside the digital world.
In the end, I would like to say that though I understand the decision of the council, however, I personally feel it would impact both physical and psychological wellbeing. I hope that council will rethink the decision.
Regards,
Madhulika
