Some people view giving presents as an important way to show care to family and friends. Others think there are more important things that can be done to show care and appreciation.

There is no deny that one should make their dear ones feel valued. Some folks believe in gifting as a way of appreciating the other person where as some would like to do something for expressing their feelings. In this essay we would look at both side and I will explain why I tend to agree that it is good to gift something valuable but up to a certain extent.
First of all doing something special or unique for your loved ones will make them feel valued. To illustrate, if you make cake or personal greeting card or doing the things they really care about it wiil make them will more cherished. From personal experience, my wife gifted me personal greeting card which made me feel so special. On the contrary, if an individual do not put much though process and thinking about the other person it will not have that much affect.
On the other hand, giving gifts is also one of prevalent ways to show people you care about them. The key here is that the gift should be not of high monetary value and also it should be useful to your friend or family member. For instance, giving a gift which is of no use and giving it for sake of gifting is not a good manner.
In my opinion, rarely anyone can make a necklace for expressing their emotions so it needs to be bought. On the flip side, it also not okay to buy expensive gift when you can do a honest emotional thing for your loved ones.
In conclusion, making your dear one special is important, despite the ways of doing so is arguable. I believe gifting is preferred but up to a limit.
