Do you prefer to stay at one place or move around

Essay topics:

Do you prefer to stay at one place or move around?

I, personally, believe that staying in one place is preferable to moving around. I prefer this option, simply because I’d like to stay grounded in my roots and moving around would be overwhelming to my mental health and efficiency at work. Let us discuss the same in the following paragraphs.

Firstly, I prefer to stay where I am since I find comfort in my hometown. I feel content here because this is where I grew up and moving to another place could make me feel uneasy. For instance, when I went to visit my family in the United States for two months, I felt like a fish out of water and I wanted to come back to my hometown as soon as possible.

Secondly, When a person has to move to a new place, they’d have to acclimate themselves to the new surroundings and understand the workings of that city/town. This can end up making the person feel too overwhelmed. Let me illustrate this with an example. When my sister moved to the United States for her higher education, she met with certain difficulties navigating through a new culture and following societal norms.

Additionally, Being overwhelmed while getting accustomed to a new place can also affect an individual’s mental health and also affect their efficiency at work. For example, when my cousin moved to a new city to advance his career as a business professional, he felt distressed by this change and initially struggled to solve the problems of moving such as finding a new house and transit to his workplace, all while trying to be an efficient employee.

Thus, as my concluding remark, I would like to state that, I prefer to stay in one place than to move around. I prefer this option because I do not want to undergo the pressure of moving, such as trying to find a new place to live or trying to fit in with a culture that I am not aware of.
