Although both of passage and lecture discusse about decline ih the population of cedar trees, lecturer casts doubt on which is written in the article. The passage described tree reason for this declination of cedar trees. However, the professor argued these reasons.

At the first, in the passage mentions to the insects, especially cedar bark beetle, as a cause of declining of the cedar trees. Yet the lecturer states that these trees not only are resistance enough to these insects, but also, in fact, are much more resistance compared to the other tree species in face these insects.

Second, in the passage brown bears is proposed to account of decreasing of cedar trees. The professor, however, disagrees with this idea. The passage sates that clawing of the bears results in being weak tress. The professor explains that there are somewhere that there is not brown bear there, but cedar polulation is declining. Therefor, this idea that brown bear could be an reason for decreasing the cedar trees is a unreasonable idea.

Third, in the article climate change is mentioned as an another reason for this changes in the cedar polulation. the lecturer, however, casts doubt on this idea by explanation about decline of cedar treea in different areas with different temperature.
