Did bees (a type of insect) exist on Earth as early as 200 million years ago? Such a theory is supported by the discovery of very old fossil structures that resemble bee nests. The structures have been found inside 200- million-year-old fossilized trees i

according to the passage the main concern is if bees were in existance on this planet 200 milion ago or not. the passage represents some points given by the non-believers of the existance while the lecture gives counter to those very points
the 1st doubt mentioned in the passage is that no fossil of remnants of bees were found more than 100 million years old.as the counter logic the lecture insists that it does not necessarily mean that there was no bee before this period. The lecture highlights the possibility that bees from more than 100 million ago might have found no suitable tree to make nest and therefore had any other place of living.
the second point mentioned in the passage is that there was no signature of existance of flowering plants 200 million years ago. And so the passage asserts that because of the mutual dependency of bees and flowering plants,it is unlikely for bees to exist in absence of flowering plants. In the counter against this point, the lecture reflected on the possibility that before 125 million years ago bees could have depended on non-flowering plants which evolved and turned into the dependency on flowering plants.
The third point presented in the passage is that the structure of the nest of bees varies between the fossilized and modern bees and it focused on a difference to support this point. But the lecture insisted that even if the structure varies, the material used to make modern nest are same kind of the fossilized nest.
