Essay topics:

establishing colonies and traveling to Asteroids and some problems of that

The text discusses traveling on Asteroids and provides three reasons to support the idea of establishing colonies on them. On the other hand, the professor goes against stated claims and by providing some contradictory information, explains why he believes this idea is not practical.

First, the text claims that Asteroids have lower gravity, and it makes landing of spaceships easy. it also states that these space vehicles will take off easy as well, and as a result, do not need lots of fuel. In contrast, the professor states that although Asteroids have lower gravity, but this can cause its own risks. He mentions that as the researches, people by living in low gravity planets, will loose their muscles and bone density which make some serious health problems for them in the long run.

Second, the author states that Asteroids have valuable metals, which spaceships can bring them to the earth, and it will make the space travelings profitable. On the other hand, the professor refutes this point and states that there is no doubt that Asteroids have some precious metals which may make space travelings profitable, but we should not forget about the cost of transporting these metals to the earth. He adds that we also cannot make sure that these metals remain the same when they arrive to the earth. Moreover, the increase in amount of these expensive metals will eventually lead to a decrease in their market price, which is another problem of the claim made by the author.

Third, the text explains that Asteroids get closer to the earth in part of their orbit cycle, and it can make them easy to reach. The professor casts doubt on this claim and mentions that most of Asteroids have unique and orbit patterns. He also includes that most of the Asteroids get close to the earth in part of their orbit patter, but get far more away from the earth in the other part of their orbit. We can also hear from him that the change in the orbit pattern of these Asteroids is the thing which can make the traveling to them challenging.
