Both the reading and the lecture discuss several methods which are used to solve the problem of declining of frog population. In the reading section, the writer contends that these solutions are highly beneficial and can lead to stop reducing frog populations and provides three reasons to support; however, in the lecture, the professor casts doubts on reading points by indicating that none of the methods is practical.
First of all, the writer claims it is need to intact some laws in order to prohibit the farmers from using pesticides which are harmful for frogs; in contrast, the professor rejects this notion by stating that it is not economical because if the farmers follow restriction rules, they will lose their crops and it makes competitive situation between farmers.
Moreover, the reading passage holds the view that it can be beneficial to treat or prevent infection which causes dehydration by antifungal medication; on the contrary, the lecturer underlines the fact that this method has two problems. First, it is difficult to apply this treatment on all the frogs, and also fungus will pass to offspring and new generation will have this problem too so it is not cost effective.
In addition, the writer mentions that since frogs lay their eggs in water, they should protect natural habitats such as lakes and marshes from human activities; conversely, the professor indicates that the biggest problem for natural habitat is global warming and it is less likely to prevent this phenomenon.
