Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they cast doubt on the specific points made in the reading passage.

The article and the lecture are both discussing about the replacing of digital recording of patient's medical data with traditional paper recording. The article describes three advantages of using new procedures. The professor dismisses all the reading's claims by saying that these benefits of electronic databases are actually uncertain.

First of all, the article posits that electronic databases could reduce costs. The professor refutes this point by saying that this procedure has not any saving effect. She explains that as doctors keep records for backup in paper edition, storing records in both kinds has the same costs.

Secondly, the reading asserts that electronic databases could prevent errors. The professor reasonably disputes this point by pointing out that most doctors still use pen and paper when they examining the patients. In this way, poor handwriting still could be one of the reasons of recording errors when staffs conveying data to electronic forms.

Lastly, the article argues that medical databases are one of significant sources of medical researches. The professor offers a counterargument by claiming that medical information is not easily accessible according to strict preventing lows in United States. The professor adds more details by saying that using patients' medical information cannot be used rather than their permission. She describes that patients can block their medical information even for any fundamental and necessary research.
