In this set of material is discussed the theory about how the he Chaco structures were used, the reading and listening has been trying to determine according to the archaeologist works.

Firstly, is said in the passage that Chacon structures maybe were used as a residence; owing it seems to the apartment buildings at Taos. Conversely with the passage, the listening explain that the last affirmation is not possible because only exist a few places to cook in these structures, thus, is not possible to consider that a hundred families could live there.

Secondly, the passage argues that this built were used to store food supplies for long periods to be suitable for people. But, according to the listening, it is explained that were not found containers in excavations. Hence, the listening affirms that it is not a possibility.

Thirdly, the reading pointed out that houses were used as ceremonial centers. Architects found rests of broken pots, therefore this support the fact that buildings were ceremonial centers. Nevertheless, the lectures refute again the passage. In spite of, broken pots were found, these belongs to the construction workers.
