The lecture and the article both discusses the 4-day workweek. The professor disagrees the reasons which the text represents. In the following, the reasons will be discussed.
Firstley the lecturer contends that this condition force the company to spends more money. In other words, the company should provides more space for employees. Besides, the increase in the number of emplyees breeds increasing in the facilities they need. On the other hand, the text claims that the shortened workweek would increase company profits because the employees feel more lively.
Secondly, the professor states that hiring new employees is costly for the company. So, the compnay raises its expectation and expects the employees by working owertime do the same work in the four days. as a result, no other will not be created. However, the article mentions by reducing the work time to 4 days a week the unemployment rates will be fallen.
Finally, the lecturer declares the four-day work in a week will not increase the quality of life of the employees. Because by working 4-day in a week their job quality would decrease. So, they cannot advance their job quality. And as a result, they may lose their jobs. Plus, the employer would prefer to hire employees who work 5 day in a week. But, the text avers the option of four a four-day workweek would be better for individual employees. Because they can spend more thim with their family and increase the quality of their lives.
