However, the lecturer states that the text is wrongly depicting the job, and casts doubt on the claims made by the passage.

First, the passage claims that buzzing is unethical. They say that a person should know whether someone is paid for praising a product because otherwise, people would be more open to accepting incorrect information used to advertise. The lecturer challenges this point. He states that buzzers will not give false information because in order to be hired they genuinely have to like the product, so if they say something is because they truly think it.

Second, the author of the text posits that buzzers take people off-guard, and that leads them to be less critical of the claims and possible empty promises. The lecturer rebuts this idea. He points out that even when he is buzzing, people do not trust blindly in his claims. Furthermore, he states that he has to answer a lot of question in order to sell a product.
Finally, the text argues that buzzing will have a major social impact on civilization. It is noted that people will probably become less trustful once they realize anyone could be secretly advertising a product. The lecturer casts doubt on this claim. He says that this is unlikely because buzzers are not fooling people and if a company does not have a good product they just simply will not have buzzers nor consumers who trust them.
