The Agnostids otherwise known as Arthropod and the passage and the speaker discussing the there living type but in very contrast ways. The lecture argues all three theories stated in the passage by following evidences.
First, passage says that it could be free swimmer in the large sea area because that has ability to swim faster and long distance. Further, it is active predator, they might eat the small organism because there are plenty of small organism less than six millimetre in size and Agnostic may be preyed them easily, for that passage gives some fossil evidences to prove that the idea. But, the speaker refutes this idea by stating that most of the arthropod has well developed vision and their primitive was poor developed eyesight. So, it is highly impossible to state that it could be free swimmer and some of are blind. They might not developed other sensory organ to prey the small organism as the passage statement.
Secondly, the reading suggests that it might be sea floor dweller, the reasons are they were the scavenging the dead organism or they grazed on the bacteria for their survival in deepest part of the ocean. Again, the professor refuses this statement by explaining that in order to get their food they must move faster but that is not possible for primitive arthropod to move fast for long distance. Moreover, if, that is case it supposed to colonised in one are but wide spreader in vast of the ocean. No more multiple colonise were found as research report.
Thirdly, the passage claims that, it seems like the arthropod could be parasites because modern arthropods like fleas, ticks and mites, they use to be parasites in many primitive fishes at present days. Still, the lecturer opposes this theory by explaining that, as per fossil record it widespreader in sea area. But, parasites usually-lives limited area only. The most of the evidences assure that their population spread all over the ocean part, not in specific location.
To sum up, the passage claims like Agnosids might be free swimmer, seafloor dweller or parasites but speaker refutes all these three with strong evidences like data and recent fossil records. So, the professor virtually disagrees with reading passage without any doubts.
