Underwater whales produce loud noises known as songs Scientists use whale songs to study the movements for migrations of groups of whales Recently scientists discovered something unusual a single solitary whale whose song is unlike that of all other known

The writer doubts what causes the 52 - Hertz whale to produce different sounds as the other known whales and even lists some theories to interpret it. In the lecture, however he uses three points to support that each of the theory is unconvincing.First, the writer believes that by uniting features from each of the parents’ species, two different whale species may have hybrid future generation. Nonetheless, the lecture obviously contradicts it and argues that unlike all other known hybrids,it has its own unusual migration pattern and migrate alone. In fact, hybrid whales typically travel together with normal whales and if 52 - Hertz whale is a kind of a hybrid. Besides, scientists prove that by studying the location 52 - Hertz whale song, that is not a site of migration alone for whales. Second, despite the statement in the reading that the 52 - Hertz whale may copy the sounds of other whales’ songs as they have an inaccurate sense of hearing, the lecture contends that the 52 - Hertz whale’s poor hearing may be resulting from the extremely high pitch which depends on the physical structure of whales’ throat. For producing a sound in such extremely high pitch, the throat structure caused by a damaged sense of hearing is unusual since there is no connection between hearing and throat structure.Third, the writer shows that as an only member of the scarce whale, the 52 - Hertz whale could be unique since almost its species have been extinct. Nevertheless, the lecture opposes the reading’s evidence. That 52 - Hertz whale is the only known member of rare species is impossible. They may have parents who sing by using the same frequency, and the technology to detect whales’ sounds underwater has been in use for decades. No signs of such whale’s sounds have ever been heard before this one.
