Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of advertisements

It is irrefutable to say that the advertisement plays a vital role in promoting brands. Nowadays, the advertisement is becoming an essential part of the business world, which attracted the numerous controversies from the public. It can be strongly agreed that advertisement is a good source of making the people aware about a specific product, while on the other hand stands a perspective that it can influence the people in the wrong way. This essay will further elaborate on both the sides and thus will lead to a logical conclusion.

At the outset, there are advantages associated with the advertisements. The most preponderant one is that advertisement can make the people aware of the qualities of the product. As an illustration, the research in this area shows that people who buy the product by watching the advertisement always make a right choice to choose the better product. For this reason, the importance of advertisement in enhancing awareness among buyers about the product should not be ignored.

Notwithstanding, some people hold an opposing view and tend to believe that advertisement always represent the misleading information. Most of the television adds not only contains an inaccurate information but also guide the customers to buy low-quality products. For example, a recent survey done by the Sydney University revealed that 80 per cent of customers who bought the product by influencing from television adds usually received low-quality products. Hence, people should never believe the information provided in advertisements.

In view of the arguments outlined above, one can conclude that despite having some drawbacks, the role of advertisement in making the people aware of the qualities of the product is instrumental indeed.
