The lecturer speaks about the birds’ vision that is 10 times powerful than human vision in some species and is used for surviving, finding food and avoiding the predators. An important aspect of the birds’ vision is the position of the eyes. Firstly, some birds’ eyes face forward the same as human eyes. These birds can judge the distance and perceive height, depth and width. For example, hawks have eyes in front of their skull and can spot a tiny mouse on the ground from very high up on the air and catch it. Secondly, some birds’ eyes are on the each side of their skull and they can watch all directions and avoid the predators. For instance, a duck eating food near a lake considers all directions and when it spots a predator like a fox and feels the danger, it flies away to be safe.
