MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

With the demand for analytical talent projected to outpace supply by 60 percent in the next few years, Capella University has announced three new educational options to help address that need. They include Bachelor of Science in Information Technology minors in Data Analytics, and Data Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Business minor in Business Intelligence. Capella University (http://www.capella.edu) is a regionally accredited online university* that offers online degree programs designed to help working adults advance in their careers.

“We’ve designed the minors to provide a well-rounded, foundational education in data as well as a ‘deep dive’ into the specific skill areas of the chosen minor,” said Sue Talley, EdD, dean of technology for Capella’s School of Business and Technology. “Capella’s minors also feature an interactive, collaborative learning environment that blends theory with practical application, including sophisticated software tools they can access from their desktop.”

Through Capella’s collaboration with SAS, the leader in business analytics software and services, and the largest independent vendor in the business intelligence market, students can gain SAS knowledge that will prepare them with the high demand competencies needed to address the nation’s skills gap.

New minors address growing need for analytical talent
McKinsey Global Institute projects that demand for analytical talent could be 60 percent greater than the supply in the coming years. To help meet this demand, Capella now offers three bachelor’s-level minors that combine analytics with key competencies such as business acumen and foundational IT skills.

In addition to these new bachelor’s-level offerings, Capella provides opportunities to specialize in Business Intelligence while earning a post-bachelor’s certificate (http://bit.ly/CapellaCertificateBusIntelligence), Master of Business Administration (MBA) (http://bit.ly/CapellaMBABusinessIntelligence) or Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) (http://bit.ly/CapellaDBA).

Combined bachelor’s/master’s options allow students to complete both degrees in less time
Capella’s unique bachelor’s/master’s options allow eligible students to begin earning master's-level credits after completing at least 100 undergraduate credits in selected bachelor’s programs. The master’s courses are applied to the requirements for both the bachelor’s and master’s degrees, saving time and money.
