Dr. Jason Hiles joins the university from The Caskey School of Divinity at Louisiana College, where he served as associate dean and assistant professor of Systematic Theology. In addition to his work as an administrator and faculty member, he brings vast experience in local church leadership and community service.

"Dr. Hiles embodies the essence of a true Christian scholar, and as importantly, a servant leader," said Dr. Hank Radda, the university's provost. "We look forward to his contributions to the college, the university, and our faculty and students."

As a Christian university, GCU encourages students to find their purpose in Christ, with an emphasis on applying Christian values and ethics to their studies and the workplace. The school's undergraduate and graduate degree programs focus on biblical and theological knowledge, practical application of that knowledge, and the development of character and integrity in all aspects of life.

"I am thrilled to be part of a growing university with a strong Christian heritage," Dr. Hiles said.

Dr. Hiles earned a bachelor's degree in sculpture from the Milwaukee Institute of Art Design, a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, and a doctorate degree in Systematic Theology from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C.

He is a regular contributor to Baptist Message and other scholarly journals, where he writes on worldview, spiritual discipline, salvation and a range of other topics. He also is a former presenter at the Evangelical Theological Society and conducts ongoing missionary trips to Ecuador.

Dr. Hiles resides in metropolitan Phoenix with his wife, Jennifer, and their three children.
