Overall, the proportion of people in the USA having meals at fast-food restaurants once a week was the most in 2003 and 2006. In 2013, the majority of Americans ate fast food in shops once or twice a month.
In 2003 and 2006, more than one-third of Americans who had meals at fast-food shops once a week, the figure of the “once a week” catalog decreased to about 27% in 2013. The proportion of eating fast-food outlets in the USA once or twice a month declined by 5% during the first three years before rising to 33% in 2013.
Turning to other catalogs, the percentage of people who had fast food at restaurants in the USA fluctuated between 16% to 20% from 2003 to 2013, and these proportions were slightly higher than the “a few times a year” catalog. The frequencies of people in America visit fast-food outlets every day and never accounted for a very small percentage, ranging from just 3% to 5%.
