The reading passage and the lecture both discuss the utlize of the carved stone balls in the neolithic periods. In the reading part, the author mentions that they might have been used for tree main reasons. In the listening part, however, the speaker challenges what the author states and refutes the reasons. She says the resins
To begin with, as mentioned in the article, the writer sets forth that they could be utelized as weapons, because some of them have hold on them; nevertheless, the profrssor rebuts the reasons asserting that common weapons on that period such as saws, did not like them. there is no mark of the damage on the surface of the stones.
Secondly, the author poins out that the size of the stones like each other; therefore they were used for measuring the wight of products. Nontheeless, the speaker flatly contradicts the reasons and contends that they have uniqe size, whereas, producing different kinds of stones, there were not used for measuring. Each stone have different weght, for instance, the marble has more wighet than the other stoens.
Fibally, the writer states that they indicates the social statues of the person in the sociaety. In contrast, the proferssor is of the opinion that although some of them has carved, the number of the stones are very simple in the shapes . It means that if they want to use them for some one that was important, thet would have some marked on them. In addition, they did not burid with the high position people in the caves and buried places, while, should they were ilustraded the position, we should find them in with high position people.
