The line chart illustrates the amount of oil utilized in Iceland, Sweden, Italy, and Turkey over 46 years as a proportion of each nation's total energy consumption.

Overall, it is clear that Turkey's proportion of use oil surged from 1996 to 2006. Meanwhile, the figure for oil usage in Italy remained relatively consistent. But Sweden and Ireland's percentages plunged.

Looking at the graph, you can see that Turkey had the lowest percentage of oil used in 1996, at 60 percent, which was only two-thirds of the proportion Italy used. However, then rose dramatically 10 years later and hit a peak of 90 percent in 2006. Italy's percentage was consistently high maintaining, between 80 to 90 percent throughout the period. In contrast, a rapid decrease in oil usage was seen in Swede and Iceland during the first half of the period, roughly 40 percent. The percentage of oil in Sweden gradually drop, reaching 34 percent by 2006. The year 1986 to 1996 witnessed a small increase in Italy before felling considerably to around 20 percent in 2006, belonging to the lowest group share of oil use among the four nations
