The given pie charts illustrate the number of factors which are used to make electricity generation during the period between 1990 and 2010 in both New Zealand and Germany.

Overall, it is evident that the main source using mostly was coal except the case of Germany in 2010. It is clear that the total units of source in Germany was the highest by 214 units.

Firstly, in New Zealand, the number of coal units rose dramatically from 56 in 1980 to 120 in 2010, followed by hydro units in 2010 with roughly 16. On the other hand, there was a sudden decline in the number of natural gas units from 30 in 1980 to 2 in 2010. At the same time, the proportion of petroleum units fell steeply by 9 in 2010.

Besides, in Germany, the number of nuclear units is appeared, there was a sharp growth from 20 in 1980 to 155 in 2010. The proportion of coal units still stood at 28 through years. At the other extreme, there was a slight drop in the number of petroleum from 22 in 1980 to 27 in 2010. Similarly, the figure of natural gas went down enormously from 28 in 1980 to 2 in 2010, followed by hydro units with approximately 5 in 2010.
