In the set of material, both reading passage and the lecture discuss about the contribution of famous painters, Rembrandt, to the representation of the woman in portraits on seventeenth-century.

First of all, the reading passage claims the inconsistent about the way the woman in the portrait is dressed. Rembrandt, who gave attention to the details of his subjects would not have been guilty of such an inconsistency. Even though, the author’s lecture affirms that Rembrandt gave attention to luxurious fur collar, with probably increase.

In the second place, the reading opinion is that Rembrandt paints the woman’s face dark fur collar, which would absorb light rather than reflect. However, the lecturer purpose that Rembrandt did him paint with simple colors and illuminated part of woman’s face, as very much realistic, like his paintings.

Third and last, the reading passage affirms that an examination reveals that Rembrandt was painted on a panel made of several pieces of Wood together. Although the lecture purpose that Rembrandt had a style with a fur collar.
