The graphs below show different types of transport used by people going to
work in two years in the city of Sydney, Australia.
The graphs in task 1 illustrate sort of transportations used by human to travel to their work place in two particular years, 1950 and 1970 in Sidney, Australia.
In general, there are two types of transportation mode used by individuals in 1950 and 1970 namely public transportation and private transportation. The public transportations were train, bus and tram, whereas the private transportations were car, bicycle and walk. The most popular transportation in 1950 was public transportation which constitutes 78% and the percentage decreased to just over 39% by 1970.
By 1950 the vehicles and transportation method used by humankind to get their occupation place from the greatest number to the least broke down as follows : train (35%), bus (32%), bicycle (10%), walk (9%), tram (8%) and car (6%). Train and bus were the most popular conveyances for the movement of humanbeings in 1950.
Moving onto 1970, Car, which was the least popular transportation have become the biggest vehicle used by people to travel to work which accounts for 56% and was followed by train (21%), bus (17%), bicycle (3%), walk (2%) and tram (1%) respectively.
In conclusion, between those two years the way humans went to work has changed substantially. The dependency to public transportation decreased in a myriad numbers and humankind inclined to use their own vehicles.
