The graph gives the information about the unemployment rates in the US and Japan over a period of 6 years between March 1993 and March 1999.
In March 1993, the unemployment rate in US was 7% but this rate started to fall gradually with slight fluctuation over the six year period and reached around 5% in March 1999. To the contrary, Japan faced 2.5% unemployment rate in March 1993 then the rate increased gradually over the six year period with minor fluctuations and reached around 5%, same as that of US, in March 1999.
The notable fluctuation that can be seen in the graph of US was in the year between March 94 and March 1996 whereas notable fluctuation in the case of Japan was between March 1996 and March 1999.
Overall, it can be observed from the graph that although the unemployment rate of US was significantly higher than that of Japan in March 1993, the rate was almost on the same level for two countries in March 1999.
