The bar chart illustrates how many hours per week young adults in Chester spent on seven activities between 2002 to 2007.
All these years, the most amount of time was spent on watching television, whereas the least favorite activity was bowling. The number of hours increased for activities like watching television, going to pubs and discos, and shopping. We could see a significant decline in the number of hours spent on activities like doing homework or playing a sport or bowling. The only task which saw fluctuation in the number of hours spent was watching DVD's.
Teenagers spent 25 hours watching television for the initial two years which rose to around 38 hours per week by 2007. The hours per week also increased for activities like going to pubs and discos and shopping (around 8 to 18 hours and 6 to 15 hours respectively) too.
Over the years lesser hours were spent on doing homework, it was reduced from around 12 hours to 6 hours per week. Similarly, sports activities also reduced from 10 hours to hardly around 3 hours. Bowling activity never gained popularity, it remained between approximately 4 hours to 1 hour. In fact, watching DVD's rose from around 10 hours to 18 hours, which again dropped to 10 hours by 2007.
