The graph illustrates how many houses are constructed yearly in Derby and Nottingham over the course of 10 years, starting from 2000. Overall, looking at the graph, it is immediately obvious that houses built experienced an upward trend. At the end of the period, the number of houses in Derby reached the highest figures.
To begin, the amount of accommodation constructed in Derby in 2000 stood at about 40 houses, after which this figure increased gradually to 80 houses in 2002. This number considerably grew to 110 houses in 2003, at which point this has stabled since 2003 to 2007. Then, there was a dramatic climb to 275 houses in 2008 and the number of houses built in Derby reached a peak at approximately 350 houses in 2009.
On the other hand, the figure of houses constructed in Nottingham witnessed a significant decrease in 2002 to 20 houses. After the growth to 80 houses in 2005, a similar trend experienced in this number, which dropped sharply to about 5 houses. Over the period, this figure went up to accurately 250 houses in 2009 which is 150 houses lower than this number in Derby.
