The bar chart illustrates the production and consumption level of electricity of the top ten countries in 2014. Unit is measured in billion kWh.
It is apparent that China and the United States both produced and consumed a much greater significant amount of electricity than other countries. On the other hand, Germany was the only country in which consumption level exceeded production output.
China is ranked the first in both production and consumption level with a staggering number of over 5000, followed by the United States, which was 1,000 less of than that of China. In comparison, other countries were less than one-fifth of China, with the highest at around 1,000 by Russia and lowest at 480 by Korea.
Meanwhile, the level of supply exceeded the demand for electricity for all countries except Germany, which production fell short of about 55. Among the two highest-ranking countries, the consumption and production level nearly break-even with China at a difference of 70. Similarly, the United States showed a slightly greater variance of around 150 billion more electricity was produced.
