The bar chart shows data on the popularity of four different accommodation chosen by British travelers in 2010.
Overall, hotel was the most popular type of housing in all four countries, whereas the British were not in favor of caravan and camping compared to the other two categories.
As regards England and Wales, hotel was chosen by the majority of respondents of the survey, with nearly 60% and 50% respectively. About a third of surveyed people chose self-catering accommodation to be the second most favorite pick of housing in the holiday season. Camping and caravan were much less common choices of four types of housing, with approximately one fifth for the former and about one-tenth for the latter.
While hotel was still the dominant shelter in Scotland and Northern Ireland, there were significant differences in the options of holiday accommodation in three other sectors compared to two previous nations. Self-catering was the second leading selection of housing in Scotland as opposed to caravan in the remained country, representing 30% for both. In the first country, caravan was much more preferable than camping, with 10% and 5% respectively for both countries, whereas self-catering and camping shared the same percentage at 10%.
