Essay topics:

The chart below shows figures for attendances at hospital emergency care departments in Northern Ireland by age group in December 2016 and December 2017.

The bar chart illustrates the number of patients sorted by age admitted to casualty department in Northern Ireland in the last month of two consecutive years 2016 and 2017.

It is evident that people under 5 and over 75 made the most appearance at this department in the hospital. Moreover, the year of 2017 witnessed a marginal increase, which showed minimal divergence among all mentioned categories.

As can be seen from the chart, in December 2016, nearly 65 individuals per 1000-population attended ED, while infants under 5 were less than two-third as likely to undergo urgent treatment . After a year, both the figures for those whose ages were more than 75 and less than 5 experienced a rise of 10 in every 1000 people to about 75 and 55 respectively.

Looking at the data source in more detail, in december 2016 ,children aged 5 to 15 were the least to pay a visit to emergency room ,which accounted for about 2%. Meanwhile, other three age groups ranging from 16 to 74 contributed nearly 30% to total attenders. In December 2017, nearly no disparity was seen in the figures for the 4 groups of patients from 5 to 15, 16 to 44, 45 to 64,65 to 74 compared to the previous year.
