The chart below shows how frequent people in the USA ate in fast food restaurants between 2003 and 2013.

The bar chart illustrates the frequency of American citizens eating in junk food restaurants during the period of 2003, 2006 and 2013.

In general, it is apparent that the percentage of people eating fast food every day, several times per week, once a week and never using the service experienced the same downward trend, whereas the figure for people consuming the food one or twice a month and a few times a year followed the opposite development. Furthermore, the most common frequency in the USA was once a week and once or twice a month.

As can be seen in the chart, there was an inconsiderable difference in the decline between the percentages of people who ate in fast food restaurants daily and those who never ate there. The rate of individuals choosing fast food as their meals several times per week in 2003 was 30%, compared to nearly 33% in 2006, and 27% in 2013.

The most noticeable changes belonged to the figure of citizens buying junk food once or twice a month, with an increase from 30% in 2003 to approximately 34% in 2013. Besides, the growth in the proportion of American people who ate in fast food restaurants was slight, from 13% in 2003 to 15% in 2006 and 2013.
