We can see that house prices fell overall between 1990 and 1995, but after most of them rose rapidly between 1996 and 2002. London experienced by far the greatest changes in house price over 13 years period.
Five years after 1989, the cost of an average home in Tokyo and London dropped by around 7%, while the average in New York fell by 5%. Nevertheless, the price of an average home in Madrid and Frankfurt both rise slightly by 2%.
From 1996 to 2002, the house price in London significantly jumped about 12% above the average of 1989. Homebuyers in New York also had to pay the paid 5% more compared with the average price in 1989. However, while the home price in Madrid rose about 2% more, the same percentage that the home price in Japan decreased. Only the cost of an average house in Frankfurt remained stable after 13 years.
