Depicted in the graph is the percentage of residents of Boston and Seattle, holding no sort of health insurance. This data has been collected over an interval of 25 years (from 1981 t0 2005).
By the year 1981, the percentage of people deprived of health insurance for both cities was a little above 20 percent. During the next 10 years ( from 1981 to 1989) this rate experienced a relatively steady growth for Seattle, reaching an all-time peak of 40 percent. Meanwhile, for Boston the trend experienced a reversed pattern, plumming it down to 20 percent.
The line graph representing Seattle steadily sinks in the course of the next 16 years (from 1989 to 2005), to reach 20 percent once more. The trend for Boston, however, stages a rather erratic behavior by reaching a record high of approximately 35 percent. Afterward, it witnesses a notable decrease to about 2 percent by the year 2005.
In conclusion, the chart provides data which shows during a 25-year period, the city population of Boston with no health insurance dropped from 20 percent to 2 percent. On the contrary, the same trend for Seattle beginning with 20 percent, at the end of the featured 25-year course, despite a surge in 1989, reached its start point 20 percent once again.
