Overall, It is noticeable that the percentage of women who passed the driving test was higher than the figure for men in all years whereas the proportion of men increased gradually over the period.
Regarding the women, nearly 50% of women passed the driving test which was recorded in 1980, this figures increased gradually over the year 1990 and there was a significant increase of 68% in the rate of passing in 2000. By contrast, this figure fell to approximately 64% in the next 10 years.
Looking to the men, the year 1980 witnessed 28% of men who passed the driving test. There was also a steady increase to nearly 40% in the figures for men in 1990 and then reaching a peak of 49% in 2000 and maintained this figures in 2010.
