The pie chart and bar diagram demonstrate the water usage of the world and several countries in 2020, respectively. Overall, the majority of the resource was used for agriculture, except Canada, which mostly utilized it for the industry needs.
The world’s trend was to use more than two thirds of the water in farming, nearly one fifth in industry, and only 8% for domestic needs. China followed these proportions approximately the same, but India increased the majority up to 92% and distributed the remainder almost equally between domestic and industrial use, with 5% and 3% respectively.
In contrast, water consumption in agriculture was less than half in New Zealand, at 44%. Approximately the same ratio was for domestic needs, leaving the industry the least share equal to one-tenth.
Finally, Canada had the most different way of the water usage from other countries, since agriculture had only 8% of it, which is the smallest part. On the contrary, the proportion for the industry was ten times more of that, namely 80%.
