The charts below show the percentage of water used for different purposes in six areas of the world.

The pie charts represent the use of water in different areas of the world for different purposes. As can be seen from the charts, in Europe most of the water is used for industrial purposes, 53%. In terms of industrials usage, North America is in the second position, with 48% water used in industry. The other regions of the world use small proportion of water in industrial purposes, as compared to Europe and North America. Central Asia uses the least percentage of water in industry, which is only 5% and then there is Africa, with 7% water used in industry. The rest of the areas’ water usage in industry roughly fall in the same trend.

In terms of agricultural usage, Central Asia uses most of its’ water for this purpose, namely 88%. Africa and Southeast Asia follows almost the same fashion, 84% and 81% respectively. As can be seen from the charts, the other regions also use a substantial proportion of water in agricultural purpose,with North America, South America and Europe using 13%, 71% and 32% of their water respectively in agriculture.

Domestic use is the least in every regions. Among these regions, South America uses the most fraction of its’ water for domestic purpose, followed by Europe, with 15%. Then there is North America, with 13%. The other areas’ water usage in domestic purpose fall roughly in the same region.
