The pie charts give information about the percentage of budget that citizens spent on categories of daily expenditure in a particular nation of Europe between 1958 and 2008.
Overall, the clothing accounted for the biggest part in the 1958 chart, while the highest expenditure was spent on the housing in 2008. In the 1958 – 2008 period, there was an increasing trend of expense on both the luxury goods, food and clothing.
From 1958 to 2008, it is clear that residents witnessed a rapid decreasing trend of the entertainment sectors from 32% to only 12%. In the same period, the figures of two smaller categories, the entertainment and travel/transport also decreased from 18% and 13% to 16% and 6%, respectively.
Nevertheless, the proportion of the budget which people spent on the housing and luxury goods had a significant growth from 22% and 7% in 1958 to 32% and 17% in 2008, respectively. Likewise, 8% of budget was paid for food, which accounted for the smallest part in 1958, this sector, however, dramatically raised to 17% in 2008.
