The charts show the changes in ownership of electrical appliances and amount of time spent doing housework in households in one country between 1920 and 2019

The line graphs give information about the total proportion of households possessing three distinctive electrical apparatuses and how many hours devoted to domestic works in on country over the period of 99 years

It is obvious that two out of three electrical devices witnessed upward trends during the given period, meanwhile, the figure for the washing machine experienced a moderate fluctuation. Apparently, it can be seen that the weekly hours people spending on housework sharply decreased over the period.

In the first year, while the refrigerator stood at 0%, the washing machine began at precisely 40%. In the next 40 years, however, there was an aggressive growth in the number of people owning the refrigerator, which even surpassed that of the vacuum cleaner and washing machine with more than 50% and 60% from 1940 to 1960. In 1960, the data for the washing machine was seen to follow a moderate decrease to slightly over 60% after a gradual growth in the first 20 years, but later rapidly recovered and reached a high record of more than 70% in 2019. Similarly, during the same period, the vacuum and refrigerator remained an equal increase before hovering and peaking at the top of 100% at the end of the year

By contrast, over the 40-year period from 1920 to 1960, there was a sharp decline from exactly 50% down to 20% in the number of weekly hours dedicated to household chores. In the subsequent years, those figures continued to steadily slide to just over 10% in 2000 before bottoming at exactly 10% in the last year.
