The charts show school expenditure and the proportion of students who gained higher education diplomas and degrees in Singapore from 2000 to 2012

The bar chart gives information about the amount of money which students in Singapore spent on their higher education by genders and proportion of diplomas and degrees in the 2000-2012 period.
Overall, it is clear that the total tuition expenditure had an increasing trend between 2000 and 2012 on both genders. Addtionally, the proportion of students who opted diploma considerably grew up at the same time.
While about 9 and 7 million dollars was paid by boys and girls in 2000, the figure was exactly 20 million dollars and about 13 million dollars, respectively. In the 2008-2012 period, the figure of males steady increased from around 27 million dollars in 2008 to over 30 million dollars in 2012, compared to those of females, roughly 13 million dollars in 2008 to exactly 20 million dollars in 2012.
At the same period, students in Singapore witnessed a change in the proportion of the categories of qualifications. In 2000, students who chose diploma qualification accounted for 73%, which was higher than that of degree ones, at only 27%. Nevertheless, the figure of degree qualifications expanded to 32% after 12 years, in 2012, while that of diplomas was shrunk, at 68% in 2012. .
