Essay topics:

The charts show the sources of electricity produced in 4 countries in 2003. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The given bar chart gives the information about the proportion of three sources of electricity generated in various countries namely India, Sweden, Morocco, and Vietnam in 2003.

It is clear that while fossil fuel took significant parts in India and Vietnam, the opposite was true for Morocco and Sweden.

Regarding fossil fuels, 82% of electricity was generated in India, which was significantly higher than the figure in Vietnam, at 56%. By contrast, fossil fuel accounted for minor parts in Sweden and Morocco, at 4% and 5%, respectively. Turning to Hydropower, it was the most common source in most countries, except India. Specifically, it constituted from 44% in Vietnam to 52% in Sweden, and 95% in Morocco, which is also the highest figure shown on the chart. Concerning Nuclear power, although nearly 50% of electricity was produced by this source in Sweden, a very small percentage of it was recorded in India. Meanwhile, Morocco and Vietnam showed no use of this kind of power.
