The given line diagram graphically represents the consumption of three spreads namely, butter margarine and low fat between the years 1981 to 2007.

The highest consumption during the given years was seen with butter .Gradually it rose from 140 grams to peak at 160 grams in 1986. Eventually, the intake of butter dropped down to 100 grams in 1991 and further to the lowest of about 55 grams in 2007.

Similar pattern was observed with margarine, whose consumption declined from around 90 grams to 80 during the initial five years of the study. Further, it rose to 100 grams which was its maximum and it remained stagnant until 1996. After which the usage was seen to reduce further, to become the least consumed spread in 2007 (40grams).

Low fat and reduced spread came into utilization during 1996(15 grams) , their usage rose significantly during 2001 to more than 80 grams after which they had a decline to 65 grams , which was the highest among the three during that year.
