The two figures compare the changes of City park’s layout, prior to and following construction of a swimming pool. Despite the apparently significant changes, the park retained the basic elements of basketball court, parking space and green area, with the addition of this swimming pool.
As can be seen on the figure 1, City park was a rectangular area with access from Park Road on the south side. There was a parking lot with eight spots in the south east corner with a separate small entrance. Two basketball courts, 1 and 2, stood side-by-side at park’s northwest side and next to the parking lot. Another parking lot with eight spots was located to the right of Park Road, occupying the southeast corner. A small entrance to the north side of this lot led to a fountain, situated in the south side of a largeish garden.
City park considerably altered after a swimming pool was built. The same Parking lot Road remained on the south west side; similarly, basketball court 1 stayed at the park’s northwest corner. Basketball court 2 was gone and in its places was the second parking lot with six spots and a new entrance from Park Road. Where the old parking lot stood was a big swimming pool, which enlarged the previous area by sacrificing the fountain. As a result, although the garden stayed in the same location, its size shrunk without the fountain.
