The diagram below shows the process of glass making, from making new glass to recycling.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The illustration depicts the different steps involved in making new glass. Starting from making new glasses to recycling used ones.

The first step is gathering raw materials such as sand, soda ash, and limestone. In the next step, these materials are funneled and place into a large container. This is followed by melting them at an extremely high temperature that can reach up to 1400 degrees. The melted products are then made into either glass containers or sheets. These can be further converted into other products like liquid bottles, glass doors, mirrors or car’s windows.

The next phase of the process involves collecting glasses that were either recycled or thrown into garbage bins. These are then brought in a facility where the bottles are sorted into colors – clear, green and brown. To complete, used glasses and sorted bottles are melted and used once again to make new glasses.

In summary, the process of making glass start with collecting raw materials, funneling followed by melting and turning it into containers or sheets that are further converted into other products. Lastly, used and recycled glasses are sorted and melted again to be used in making new glasses.
