The diagram below shows the process by which bricks are manufactured for the building industry.

The figure illustrates the steps involved in preparation of bricks used in the construction of buildings and It requires complex equipment and controlled environment.

To start with, the clay dug by the digger is placed on a metal grid that sieves the large clods into small bits, after which the tiny bits of clay is placed on a roller. The clay bits are then mixed with sand and water and the resulting mixture in a wire cutter, where the large brick that comes out is cut with wire into the desired size. The mixture may also be placed in a mould that gives out the bricks.

The freshly mould bricks are placed in an oven for drying for 24 to 48 hours after which they are transferred to a first kiln maintained at a temperature of 200-980 degree celsius. The bricks are then moved to a second kiln, where they are exposed to high temperatures in the range of 870-1300 degree celsius. The bricks are then cooled in a cooling chamber for one to two days and delivered after packing.
