The given diagram illustrates the transformation happening at West Park Secondary school over a period of 60 years commencing from 1950.
Overall, it can be seen that the school has undergone various changes including the expansion of the school building along with the car park and sports field.
As the diagram shows, in 1950, the school had one building just right next to some houses. There was also a playground immediately behind the school and farmland located south-west to it. 30 years later the citizen area was flattened and developed into a car park and a science block. In place of the farmland, which is shown right below the houses area, 1980 saw a sports field.
Looking at the school in 2010, the car park quadrupled as it was in 2015 because it occupied the area that was once used for temporary car park. The science block stood still while the sports field and the playground were minimized for the extension of car park.
